Review of MT6 Innfrared ThermomterMay 27, 2010 After doing some research, I was convinced that his product would be the one to replace my analog thermometer; I was not disappointed. It gives a temperature reading instantateously whether the object is cold or hot. Very impressive and the cost was great; a savings of $30.00 compared to other vendors.
Works as expected, feels a little chintzyMay 04, 2010 This thermometer does exactly as you would expect it would, takes the temp of anything, performs admirably. I cannot comment on it's longevity, as I have not had it long, but the overall feel is kinda cheap, but for the price, it works as it should.

Toxic Chemical SmellApr 24, 2010 Upon opening package, I was greeted with strong toxic chemical smell, same as associated with cheap products made in China. Smells something like diesel fuel. Everything inside the package smells. Somehow, the better brands, such as Apple and Sony, do not have this smell even when made in China. But the cheap stuff all too often does. I had hoped that Raytek, a Fluke brand, mean quality, but apparently not. I had been a fan of Fluke products going back 30 years. I waited too long to return and so this goes into the trash. Not knowing what the chemical is, I don't even want to handle it. Now I don't know what to buy. I had really been looking forward to using this.
Great product for general useApr 09, 2010 Money worh to pay for. The good feature is that when you trigger once, it hold the temperature, and you can also scan the temperature by holding the trigger. It reads C or F. I also found out that it does not read accurate on some metal/shiny surfaces.

Way too much fun for the price!Feb 20, 2010 Bought it, used it, love it. The other reviews tell you all you need to know about how it works. Let me tell you what I learned owning this item...
You are not interested in the temperature of items right now, if you buy the MT6 this will change. You will extend your little red finger of light into all sorts of places where it is not welcome to satisfy your own curiosity. Within hours you will be expert on the temperature of everything in your line of sight. You will experience a contentment that you never knew you were missing.
You will be tempted to share this knowledge with those closest to you. This you should not do.
Ignore my advice if you wish, but be warned that until I bought the MT6 I spent my evenings hanging out with my wife and friends. Now I spend my evenings writing reviews of laser thermometers on amazon.com.
