1DisappointedJul 27, 2010
I have a Toyota Sienna. I needed something to help support a 300 lb tongue weight on my minivan. These bags, when inflated with the recommended 35 psig and no load, only kept the bottom of the receiver hitch 1 inch higher off the ground (relative to the height with near zero pressure in the bags and no extra weight in the van). In July of 2010, I only traveled 70 miles at 35 psi, and the passenger side bag developed a leak at the seam. What a disappointment. Do NOT waste your money. (These were installed in November of 2009 and kept at 5 psi with no issues)

597 Sienna "Mount it upside down!"Feb 15, 2010
Just finished install. I mounted them upside down to protect the air lines and it worked great. Be sure to put the protective disks on the top of the air bags to protect the air line where it meets the bag. Ziptie to the brake lines. Remove plastic spray shield in passanger rear wheel well to route air lines into passenger compartment. I purchased two rubber gromets at local hardware store to protect lines from wearing and to seal the holes drilled through the body. Remove small 4"x6" panel with light that is located right inside the van(passengerside, in the panel at the rear of the sliding door opening at floor). This will allow you to mount the valves right above the small panel.

With 35psi ride was only slightly rougher for the front passengers and gave an extra 1" of clearance at the trailer hitch. Most inportantly the back end doesn't sag with a grocery cart of food in the back.

5Best thing I ever did for my SiennaOct 11, 2009
This was MUCH easier than anticipated. If you're a procrastinator like myself, you'll kick yourself for not doing this sooner. A few observations. First the tubing didn't push very far onto the fittings BUT it doesn't seem to matter. I've had this kit installed for just over 3 months and it's lost negligible pressure if any. Soap solution test revealed no apparent leaks so anyway the point is don't worry about covering all the fitting with hose. It's unnecessary. Do pay attention to your Sienna's exhaust hot parts. The hose is poly/plastic an would probably melt so I routed mine forward of the exhaust figuring hot air naturally moves rearward. Lastly I routed the fitting low out through the rear bumper cover. It's therefore mounted to a semi-flexible surface which you may or may not agree with but it works well enough and you hardly notice it unless you're looking for it.

It doesn't take much air to get your van up. The ride isn't affected as far as I can tell. The bags themselves seem kind of cheap but I'm not a professional air bag inspector and they have lasted this long with no questionable antics soooo. Life time warranty too! Just simply the best accessory for my van. Wish there was a front kit!

5Better then I thoughtAug 31, 2009
As soon as I got it in the mail I wondered if it was to late in the evening to start this project. I went ahead and did it. It took me about 1 1/2- 2 hours by my self. Not to bad. I also place the air line through the car jack area rather then though the bumper or body of the van. It keeps the 2005 Sienna up so the hitch does not drag like at other times before. I haul a 2700lb popup camper with no problem (using 6" rise ball hitch) Love this product and great price!

5Serves its purpose wellAug 22, 2009
I needed something to help support a 350 lbm tongue weight on my minivan. These bags, when inflated with the recommended 35 psig and with the 350-lbm load, keep the bottom of the receiver hitch 2 inches higher off the ground (relative to the height with near zero pressure in the bags). They also stiffen the dynamic load (i.e. keep it higher off the ground when going over bumps). They're easy to install (remove all cargo from back end of vehicle to help stretch the coil springs which helps to install/push the deflated bag between coils). Be careful not to allow the cheap plastic tubes from touching the hot muffler. They barely give enough length of tubing and not very good clamps for the tubing. Use a tiny bit of WD40 on the inside of the tube to help push the brass fittings on the ends of the tubing. I've been on several trips now without any problems. I keep them inflated even when not towing my popup.
